Jermick Wawoe (1985) was born and raised in Curacao, but currently living in The Netherlands.
He’s a student of the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. At the age of 19 he has discovered his passion for creating beautiful, mysterious and unique works of art. His main focus for the last couple of years has been his development and exploration of new forms and styles of graphic art. Jermick’s new art style is called “Kwalisme” it can be described as a ‘new avant-garde art movement’. He draws inspiration from the great works done by Pablo Picasso, Keith Haring and Mc Escher.
For many years he was experimenting with different techniques and work materials to achieve his own unique style. Now he concentrates his efforts on Ink painting. Jermick want people to see his art as a puzzle, every piece harmonizes beautifully together in order to create a mysterious and unique masterpiece. This is why it takes him about 2 to 4 months to finish one art work.
Just like “Pablo Picasso”, his work is divided into three periods, each showing different influences and personal interests, which include:
- The Black & White period: 2004-2009
- The Color period: 2010-2010
- The Golden Years: 2010- to present
